All questions on the CDR RD exam are multiple-choice and classified as either comprehension (does the exam taker know the topic/interpret data in various forms) or application (can they analyze/solve problems). Candidates have two and a half hours to complete a minimum of 125 questions. The maximum number of questions is 145. CDR dietitian exam content is generated from these four domains: Principles of Dietetics, Nutrition Care for Individuals and Groups, Management of Food and Nutrition Programs and Services, and Foodservice Systems. The ordering of questions from these domains is random. The CDR exam is offered multiple times a year at any Pearson VUE computer-based testing site. Scoring is scaled to a range from 1-50. The minimum passing score is 25.
