The NCLEX LPN/LVN Test is adaptive, meaning that the questions change difficulty levels depending on whether a candidate answers correctly or not. Because the test is adaptive, the number of questions an examinee must answer will vary. At minimum, a test-taker will answer 85 questions: 52 from the four categories, 18 clinical judgment items, and 15 unscored questions. At most, candidates will be asked 150 questions.
